Vermiculite is a kind of layer structure of water containing magnesium aluminum silicate secondary metamorphic minerals, ore outside like mica, usually by black mica (gold) through the hydrothermal alteration or weathering and become, it is because of its heated water expands flexure, from resembles leeches, therefore calls vermiculite. Vermiculite are divided into 2 categories which are raw vermiculite and expanded vermiculite by stages.
Vermiculite has many excellent performances such as indulation, cold resistance, antibaterial, fire prevention, water absorption, sound absorption and so on. Under the 800-1000 celcius degree with calcination 0.5-1 minutes, it can rapidly increase volume 8-15 times, after the expansion the bulk density will become 50-200kg/m3. Color turns into golden or silver, then generate a texture osteoporosis expanded vermiculite.
Expanded vermiculite are widely used in construction, metallurgy, chemical industry, light industry, machinery, electric power, petroleum, environmental protection and transportation department, foreign mainly used in construction, insulation, packing and agriculture, horticulture, etc.
