Calcium carbonate is an inorganic compound, the chemical formula is CaCO3, commonly known as limestone, limestone, stone powder, marble and so on. Calcium carbonate is alkaline, insoluble in water and soluble.

It is white solid, tasteless and odorless. There are amorphous and crystalline forms. The relative density was 2.93. It decomposes at 825 ~ 896.6 ºC and decomposes into CaO and CO2 at about 825 ºC. The melting point is 1339 ºC and 1289 ºC under 10.7Mpa.
In case of dilute acetic acid, it will boil and dissolve. When heated to 900 ºC at 101.325 kPa, it decomposes into Cao and CO2.
